Profile: A Contemporary Landscape Artist

Jim Whitty is an english-born artist, currently living and working in London and Sommerset.

He trained at the Glasgow School of Art, and drew much of his initial inspiration from the landscape of North West Scotland, especially in aspects of landscape related to water: the coastline, sea, rivers, rain, snow. His currnet work, whilst still motivated by an interest in the chaotic patterns formed by water in nature, is more ubiquitous and describes or alludes to natural forms that are universal. It is possibly for this reason that his work is generating interest worldwide.
